better late than never.

dearest friends and family,
thank you for being patient and sticking by as 7 weeks in to my time in Ankara, I am now starting my blogging. You are truly the best!

just to give you a feeling for what this blog will be like... i am by no means a talented writer, thus it's a 'photo-blog'. this means that i will share the story of my time here through photos (with captions, if the photos don't speak for themselves).

so without further adieu, here we go!

my apartment building. God has truly blessed me in my living situation. i am about a 15 minute walk from the downtown/city centre area.
my 2 wonderful roommates: Haejin and Adrienne modeling our dinner
some of you may know this already, but I came to Turkey as a natural blonde. i am now unnaturally not-so-blonde.

just a little too close to show the new color..
The first week in November, we had a fabulous team from St. Louis to serve their neighbors in Ankara! The week was filled with special English time with refugees and a giant birthday party for children with disabilities! English time was filled with dramatic Book scenes, conversation while sipping tea, and karaoke! The party was filled with many smiles, joyous laughter, and impressive dancing!

the team atop the old citadel in Ankara
for the last leg of the adventure, we traveled to istanbul!

God in this City

You're the God of this City
You're the King of these people
You're the Lord of this nation,
You are.

You're the light in this darkness
You're the hope to the hopeless
You're the peace to the restless,
You are.

There is no one like our God,
for greater things have yet to come.
